About Jill
Jill Gunter is co-founder of Espresso Systems, a company focused on privacy and decentralization in the crypto space. Gunter, a former crypto investor at Slow Ventures, teamed up with a group of collaborators from Stanford who have worked on other high-profile web3 projects, including the anonymity-focused Monero blockchain and BitTorrent co-founder Bram Cohen’s Chia. Espresso Systems has prioritized both privacy and scalability, addressing the most immediate pain points for users.
Espresso Systems uses ZK-Rollups to achieve greater throughput, allowing transactions to be processed off-chain. They are working on a way to integrate the roll-up carefully with consensus to achieve higher throughput and lower fees, without compromising too much on decentralization.
Furthermore, Espresso Systems has developed a smart contract application called Configurable Asset Privacy for Ethereum (CAPE) which allows asset creators on the blockchain to customize who can see what information regarding the ownership and movement of those assets.
