Profile

Chris Ryder's professional experience spans more than 20 years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining WisdomTree in 2023, Chris was with Securrency, Inc., a start-up, blockchain infrastructure organization that was ultimately acquired by DTCC. While at Securrency, Chris established two U.S. broker dealers; Securrency Securities and Securrency Digital Trading, and the company’s transfer agent; Securrency Transfers, acquired by WisdomTree in April 2023. He held the role of President for all three business entities. Chris’ leadership in this role led to the granting of FINRA membership to Securrency Digital Trading, as one of the industry’s first digital ATS platforms approved to transact in digital securities. He also established a digitally enabled transfer agent that now supports all WisdomTree digital funds under the name WisdomTree Transfers. Prior to Securrency, Chris held a Director level role with Park Avenue Securities, a subsidiary of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. During his time there, he developed and launched the firm's first automated advisory platform, assembled a new research team, and recreated the firm's investment due diligence processes. He was also responsible for the oversight of asset allocation models and developed supervisory and operating procedures to meet the requirements of the firm's rigorous internal audit standards. Prior to Guardian Life, Chris served as a Vice President at Fidelity Investments, managing a variety of responsibilities with a focus on capital markets. He established the firm’s fixed income trading system and the procedures necessary to execute Fidelity’s first de-risking trade for one of their largest enterprise clients. Chris' early career included a fixed income derivatives trading role with Bankers Trust, mortgage-backed securities trading at Cantor Fitzgerald, and experience in equities and research with Bear Stearns, subsequently JP Morgan. Chris earned a BA in Economics from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where he played varsity football and baseball.
